PokeSurvivor Troubleshooting

Diagnose PokeSurvivor loading, rendering, performance and connection problems without losing progress.

This guide separates confirmed fixes from open community reports. Issue status was checked 22 October 2026 and can change.

Check the URL first: a copy site has a separate account database and may be missing current features such as Arceus. The 12 October patch fixed the black screen and endless level-up bug after 84 minutes and added run self-save on failure. Freezes after a card choice and missing mobile sprites are open community reports, not confirmed fixes. Do not clear browser data before checking the account type.

Wrong site and missing features

Most “missing feature / no Arceus / friends not found” reports come from a non-official copy with its own database. The copy can have older files and cannot share the official account. The only official website is pokesurvivor.com.

A copy site is not fixed by clearing your cache. Return to the official site and sign in there. If the official site shows an old build, check the browser cache and the current news page; do not assume the game is abandoned.

Account and friends missing

A guest session is not saved. If you closed the tab, the run is gone. If you created an account on a copy site, the official site cannot find it. The save guide explains recovery and merge rules.

If a friend cannot find you, both players must be on the same official host. Invitations expire after three minutes. The multiplayer guide covers the room flow.

Freezes and black screens

The 12 October patch fixed the bug that turned the screen black or levelled the player forever after 84 minutes. It also added a self-save when a run fails. If you are on an old copy or a cached tab, update or reopen the official site.

A freeze after selecting an upgrade is an open GitHub issue, not a confirmed fix. A freeze during a normal wave can also be a device memory problem. Try a reload on the official site and a lower graphics quality. If it reproduces at the same action, report it with the browser, device and run time.

Mobile sprite bug

Missing skill or map sprites after backgrounding the browser on mobile is an open community report. A reload may restore the sprites, but the run can be lost if you are a guest. Use an official account for a run you care about, and avoid switching apps during a boss or rift.

This is not the same as a missing texture on a copy site. If the sprites are missing on first load, check the URL and update the browser before reporting.

Co-op connection

Open issues report co-op stuck on “connecting” and mid-run disconnects. The 21 October update changed the networking protocol; older workarounds may not apply. Try a fresh room, both players on official hosts, and a different network. The multiplayer guide has the checklist.

If the official site itself loads but the room does not, the problem is likely the room or network, not the game files. Do not reinstall the browser to fix a room state.

Safe order of fixes

  1. Check the URL. Confirm pokesurvivor.com or the official author page.
  2. Check the account. Guest, official cloud or offline local.
  3. Reload the official tab. Do not clear site data yet.
  4. Try a current browser and a private window. This separates cache/extension issues from the game.
  5. Lower graphics quality. Use the automatic mode or a lower setting.
  6. Back up or verify the account. Then clear cache only if you accept the local-save risk.
  7. Report with details. Include browser, OS, device, run time, action and whether the site is official.

The controls guide handles input-only failures. The download guide handles a broken offline unzip. A site outage is not something this guide can repair; report it through the official support/GitHub channel.

Quick answers

Why is Arceus missing from my game?

The most common cause is a copy site with older files. The Arceus event was added on 13 October 2026. Check the URL and the official build.

Did the black-screen bug get fixed?

The 12 October patch fixed the black screen and endless level-up bug after 84 minutes. An old cached tab or copy may still show it.

Why are sprites missing on mobile?

Missing sprites after backgrounding the browser is an open community report. Reload may restore them, but a guest run can be lost. Use an official account for important runs.

Why is co-op stuck on connecting?

Open issues report this. Try a fresh room on official hosts and a different network. Check the multiplayer guide before changing the game files.
