PokeSurvivor online co-op supports up to four players on the official site. Add friends by nickname, have one player host a room and invite the others, then start together. Experience and level are shared; stand next to a fallen teammate to revive them. If the host switches tabs, the run pauses for everyone. A copy site has a separate account database, so official friends cannot be found there.

Account and network requirements
Online co-op requires the official browser game and a cloud-capable account. Guests can play solo immediately, but the official guide says guest progress is not saved. Friends and rooms are account features, not guest features.
Use pokesurvivor.com or the author’s approved host. A copy site can run the same files with a different database, so an official account cannot log in there and the friends list is separate. The save guide explains the cloud host restriction.
A stable connection matters more than raw speed. The host maintains the room state and sends the run events. A mobile connection can work, but a backgrounded tab or a sleeping phone can pause or disconnect the run.
Friends and rooms
Add friends by nickname. The request creates a pending friendship; the other player accepts it. A room has a host and up to three guests. The host invites friends to the room, and the invited player accepts before the run starts.
Invitations expire after three minutes. If a friend does not see the invite, send a new one rather than waiting. The room is not a public matchmaking list; it is a friends-first flow.
Only one player hosts. The host chooses the mode, starts the run and is the authority for co-op events. A second host cannot merge two rooms. The rift guide explains how the host controls a rift entry.
Shared XP and revives
Experience and level are shared across the group. A support player does not fall behind by dealing less damage. The run clock is also shared, so the group reaches bosses and the Arceus event together.
Stand next to a fallen teammate to revive them. The revive is positional; a player who kites away from the body cannot revive at range. Clear the immediate area first or the revive can be interrupted by the same wave.
Shared XP does not mean shared inventory. Each player chooses their own level-up cards and held item. Coordinate type coverage and roles instead of assuming everyone receives the same build.
Host rules
- Host tab switch: if the host switches tabs, the run pauses for everyone.
- Rift entry: the host decides and broadcasts the arena.
- Weather: the host decides and broadcasts the state.
- Arceus skip: only the host can skip the event animation.
- Room start: the host starts the run after the invited players join.
A host who needs to leave should end the run. Do not assume a guest can take over mid-run.
When a friend cannot join
- Check the site. Both players must be on an official host with the same account database.
- Check the nickname. The friends list uses the nickname, not an email or a room code.
- Check the invite. Invites expire after three minutes; resend it.
- Check the room. Four players is the maximum. A fifth player cannot join until someone leaves.
- Reload the official game. A stale tab can keep an old account session or room state.
- Try a different network. A restrictive network can block the connection even when the website loads.
Do not share account credentials in a third-party form. The official game handles login on its own site. A “co-op helper” site asking for a password is not part of the game.
Known connection issues
Open GitHub issues report co-op stuck on “connecting” and mid-run disconnects. These are community reports, not a confirmed fix list. The 21 October update changed the networking protocol to be lighter; older workarounds may no longer apply.
If the room connects but the run desyncs, return to the menu and start a fresh room. If the official site itself does not load, use the troubleshooting guide before changing the co-op setup.
Setup steps
- Sign in on the official site. Use a cloud-capable account, not a guest session.
- Add friends by nickname. Have each player accept the request.
- Create a room as host. Keep the room to four players or fewer.
- Invite and wait for accepts. Resend an invite if it expires after three minutes.
- Start the run. The host starts; experience and level are shared.
- Revive beside a fallen teammate. Clear the area, then stand next to the body.
For a first group run, read the first-run guide and agree on type coverage before the timer starts. The leaderboard guide explains how a group result is recorded.
Quick answers
How many players can play co-op?
Up to four players on the official site, with one host and up to three guests.
How do I add a friend?
Use the friends list and add the player by nickname. The other player accepts the request; then the host invites them to the room.
Is XP shared?
Yes. Experience and level are shared, and standing next to a fallen teammate revives them.
Why can’t my friend find me?
The most common cause is playing on different sites with separate account databases. Both players must use an official host.
