PokeSurvivor vs Pokémon Survivor Burst

Compare PokeSurvivor and Pokémon Survivor Burst by maker, platform, roster, modes, unlocks, saves and language support.

PokeSurvivor is checked 22 October 2026. Burst details come from its developer thread and community sources; the roster and language figures conflict, so both are noted.

They are different games. PokeSurvivor is a free browser game by JPTER78 at pokesurvivor.com, with 966 partners, 103 moves and four-player online co-op. Pokémon Survivor Burst is a downloadable RPG Maker XP/Essentials game by ClessioTV, with Classic, Rush and Tower modes and a separate unlock system. Accounts, saves, codes and guides do not transfer between them.

Two different games

The names are similar enough that search results mix them. PokeSurvivor is the browser game this site covers. Pokémon Survivor Burst is a separate fan game by ClessioTV. A PokeSurvivor account, save or tier list does not apply to Burst, and a Burst guide does not describe PokeSurvivor’s systems.

The easiest identity check is the maker and the platform. If the page says “play in your browser at pokesurvivor.com,” it is PokeSurvivor. If it says “download RPG Maker XP / Essentials” and “ClessioTV,” it is Burst.

Do not use a PokeSurvivor download link for Burst or a Burst patch for PokeSurvivor. The engines and save formats are different.

Roster and moves

PokeSurvivor has 966 partners from all nine regions, 103 moves, 11 held items, 18 type arenas and 87 legendaries. Its partner is restricted to Normal moves plus its own types, with TMs adding specific moves.

Burst’s developer thread says 88+ playable Pokémon. An older comparison page says 25 as of v2.6; that figure is stale relative to the developer thread. Burst lets a Pokémon mix skills from any unlocked Pokémon, according to a comparison video, while PokeSurvivor restricts the pool by the partner’s types. The 88+ and 25 figures are a source conflict, not a PokeSurvivor roster count.

Modes and co-op

ModePokeSurvivorBurst
Standard survivalYes; runs lead to the minute-30 Arceus eventClassic mode, described as a 15-minute survival mode
Boss rushNo separate boss-rush mode; bosses appear on a scheduleRush mode

Online co-opUp to four players with friends and roomsNo PokeSurvivor-style four-player browser co-op; check the current Burst build
LeaderboardsSolo and group, daily/weekly/monthly/all-timeNot the same account or board system

Burst’s multiple modes make it a different kind of session. PokeSurvivor’s identity is the browser survival run plus co-op, rifts and Arceus. A “which is better” answer depends on whether you want a quick browser run or a downloadable RPG structure.

Unlocks and monetisation

PokeSurvivor unlocks partners through regional gacha tickets earned by playing. Tickets cannot be bought with real money. Burst unlocks Pokémon through challenges and uses battle passes bought with candy, according to the comparison page. The two progression systems are not interchangeable.

Do not carry a “best character” or “tier” claim from one game to the other. A Burst tier list uses Burst’s roster and modes; PokeSurvivor’s community tier lists use its 966 partners and its own criteria.

Saves and accounts

PokeSurvivor’s official cloud account is tied to pokesurvivor.com and its approved hosts. A guest session is not saved; the offline ZIP uses browser local storage. Burst is a downloadable game with its own save files and no PokeSurvivor account.

A PokeSurvivor friend cannot be found in Burst, and a Burst save cannot be imported into PokeSurvivor. The save guide covers the PokeSurvivor side; use the Burst developer’s instructions for its saves.

Which should you try?

  • Choose PokeSurvivor for a free browser run, mobile play, 966 partners, four-player co-op and the minute-30 Arceus event.
  • Choose Burst if you want a downloadable RPG Maker game with Classic, Rush and Tower modes and a challenge-based unlock structure.
  • Try both if you enjoy the survivor genre; they are different projects, not versions of one game.

The comparison is not a claim that one is objectively better. The platform, session length, roster and unlock model are the decision. The PokeSurvivor first-run guide is the place to start for this game.
